National and Regional Economic Update
Leigh-Ann Wilkins, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia
An Overview of Economic Trends at the National and Regional Levels
Leigh-Ann Wilkins began her career as a quantitative analyst in the Supervision, Regulation, and Credit Department of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank, which charged her interest in consumer credit portfolios. She largely studies topics in consumer credit risk, seeking answers that help improve the financial decisions of consumers as well as facilitate safety within consumer credit markets. She is currently studying aggregate fluctuations in credit scores over the business cycle, as well as intergenerational credit behaviors.
As an economic outreach associate, Leigh-Ann speaks to business and financial leaders throughout the Third District about local business conditions, macroeconomic trends, and monetary policy. Her outreach objective is to concisely explain complex economic topics and research, bridging the gap between economists and the general public to aid in better economic decision-making. The highlight of her work is knowing that what she does helps to inform and educate people in our communities.
Leigh-Ann has a master’s degree in applied economics from Drexel University and dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and psychology from West Virginia University.
