Event Description:
Philanthropy & Giving Back
A Fireside Chat on Making an Impact

Giving back isn’t just about writing a check—it’s about showing up, sharing your talents, and making a difference in your community at any stage of life. Join Women2Women for an inspiring fireside chat featuring Kirsten Haas, Executive Director of Girls on the Run of Berks County, and Tracy Parmer of First Energy, a dedicated community advocate. Together, they’ll explore the many ways to engage in philanthropy, from volunteering and mentorship to advocacy and leadership.

This event isn’t just about listening—it’s about action. After the conversation, stay for a structured networking session, where students and professionals will connect, share ideas, and take the first step toward meaningful community involvement. Whether you're just starting your journey or looking for new ways to give back, this event will leave you ready to make an impact.

Join us at Albright College and take the first step in giving your time, talent, and treasures to the causes that matter most!

Meet Our Speakers
Kirsten Haas | Girls on the Run of Berks County

Kirsten Haas holds a BA in Political Science and a Masters of Mass Communications in Public Relations, both from the University of Georgia. She started her career at Carpenter Technology right out of graduate school. Over the next 20-years, she held various roles in sales, marketing and commercial product management. Post-Carpenter, she restarted her professional journey at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts as a Community Ambassador; at Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom as the office manager; and at the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance as the Membership Director. Kirsten is currently the Executive Director of Girls on the Run of Berks County. She also freelances as a writer and as the Managing Editor for W2W Magazine.

In her own words, "I am a native of Hawaii (in the “I was born there” sense, not in the ancestral sense); grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia; and currently reside in Reading, PA. I enjoy (who am I kidding? I LOVE it!) college football (the Georgia Bulldogs first, SEC teams second, and then everyone else), reading, running (sort of...I did complete the Marine Corps Marathon in 2013 and have completed at least half-dozen half-marathons, nine 10K Peachtree Road Races, numerous 5K and two sprint-distance triathlons), watching Jeopardy! (I was a contestant on the 06/24/2021 episode with Savannah Guthrie!), writing and vodka martinis (three olives, no more, no less)."

Tracy Parmer | FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Distribution Company
Tracy, a proud Central Pennsylvania native, has been soaking up the vibes of Berks County for the past 25 years. Tracy holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Penn State, a BS in Applied Psychology from Albright College, and an MBA in Community and Economic Leadership from Alvernia University! By day, Tracy finds herself knee-deep in the regulatory affairs of the FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Distribution Company. Tracy co-founded the Southeast PA Chapter of FirstEnergy Women in Leadership EBRG and chairs the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance’s Women2Women Advisory Council.

When she's not busy championing community causes, you'll find Tracy adventuring the world by bike and alongside her wife, crafting dazzling crystal jewelry, hitting the golf course, or stargazing by a cozy fire.
