ProBerco Earns Prestigious Select Tier Status in Pennsylvania

ProBerco is proud to announce a major milestone: the organization has achieved Select Tier Status under Pennsylvania’s Performance-Based Contracting (PBC) initiative for residential services. Out of 433 applicants, ProBerco is one of only 16 providers statewide—and the only one in Berks County—to receive this prestigious designation. This recognition reflects ProBerco’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The PBC initiative, developed by the Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (ODP), sets rigorous standards for residential providers and Supports Coordination Organizations. Its goals include enhancing service sustainability, improving care quality, strengthening support for individuals with complex needs, and implementing workforce development strategies.

As a Select Tier provider, ProBerco gains access to additional resources and funding opportunities that will directly benefit its workforce and the individuals it serves. This designation also enables ProBerco to accept individuals who require more intensive care and support.

“This achievement is a powerful affirmation of the incredible work our team does every day,” said Jody Wagner, CEO. “Their dedication, compassion, and professionalism are the reason we have reached this milestone.”

ProBerco’s path to Select Tier status included several strategic initiatives, such as expanding its on-site nursing department, launching a credentialing program, implementing recruitment and retention strategies, and enhancing incident management systems.

ProBerco extends heartfelt thanks to its staff, partners, and community for their continued support. Together, we are setting a new standard for care in Pennsylvania.
